Height

You are shortest in the morning, and tallest at night. Another amazing fact that you may not know is that when you get up in the morning, you are actually taller than you normally are! This incredible occurrence is because during the course of a day, the gravitational pull pushes on your spine, along with other parts of your body. As you go lay down, your body then is no longer being ‘dragged down’ by gravitational pull, making your body go back to it’s normal size laying down!

Our Skin

The average human will shed 40 pounds of skin in their life. First of all, I would just like to say how incredibly disgusting this statistic is, however if you think about it a little more, you will realize how true this is! Have you ever gotten a blister, and the skin fell off in the shower, or you peeled it off when you were bored? Or for girls, think of how many blisters you get from your shoes, and then they peel and fall off? All of that throughout your 70-90+ years of life, whatever that may be, adds up real fast! Even if you do not get blisters or anything, your skin naturally sheds it’s outer-layer of cells, called the epidermis, every 27 days. So that means every month, you have a completely new layer of epidermis cells that cover your body. You have around 1.6 TRILLION skin cells on your body, and you lose almost a million in a 24-hour period. That’s AMAZING if you ask me!
